Antonio Fernández Carriedo
A passionate, cheerful country with a mysterious aura of light and darkness, Spain was once a super powerful nation and traveler until he was tormented by England and The Netherlands, beaten by a younger America, and thrown into war and poverty. Despite all his hardships, he remained optimistic and passionate. The source of his constant happiness is the sunshine that casts over his land. He's said to not be likely to change much with time and to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, in whatever way he wants, being a very "my pace" country. He cannot read the atmosphere, nor does he even try so, although he means well, he happens to come off as insensitive and clueless at times. When he drinks wine he's said to get sentimental, but getting him drunk makes him scary enough to change even Sweden's facial expression. It's advised to keep your distance when he's drunk, and that he won't be mad afterwards if you do. Himaruya revealed that Spain might as well have "two faces" like Russia.

I have a voice in my head. I've had it for a long time and it speaks to me often. It's very mean. It always put me down while commanding me to do things. It tells me I'm weak, poor and worthless. It tells me I've got nothing going for my life. I have a empty future. It bully me with words day after day while
commanding me to become what I was. I can't. I won't give into it, no matter how much it breaks me down. I don't want to be a monster like I was during my pirate /conquistador days. I don't want to bring fear to everyone's eyes anymore. I don't want to kill anymore. The voice screams at me. It'll never end until I give in. I wish it'll go away. I wish Captain Antonio would just leave me alone.
Spain tries his best to ignore Antonio and mostly succeed but there are those rare occasions where he breaks down when he's alone, screaming for it to go away. Antonio refuse though. He wants control and plans on getting it sooner or later.
Antonio isn't necessarily a pirate/conquistador. Spain gave him the nickname Captain Antonio because he acts as such when Spain was a pirate/conquistador. He was also made into existence from these days. Antonio is his dark side that he tries to keep locked up inside.
Spain likes to keep Antonio a secret from everyone. He doesn't want to be called crazy if he told everyone he had a voice in his head. He prefers to be at home instead of a loonybin thank you. It is difficult sometimes and he wants some help but he doesn't want to risk it.
Antonio is most active when England, Turkey, or many others are near. His voice becomes louder and more commanding. He sees them as the cause of most of their problems in their life. He wish Spain would just give into him and kill them already.
